Service Description
NextGen offers optional 1:1 counselling sessions as an add-on to our group programs for participants who would benefit from extra individual support. This add-on provides a dedicated space to: Talk through challenges or big feelings Work on personal goals Build emotional regulation and coping strategies Support confidence, independence, and life skills Link learnings from group sessions into everyday life Counselling sessions are delivered by an ACA-registered counsellor and can support participants with: Anxiety or emotional regulation Social and communication skills Self-esteem and confidence Transition to work, study, or adulthood Managing change or stress How It Works Offered as a 1:1 session alongside group participation Can be booked regularly or as needed Available before or after group sessions (subject to availability) Delivered in a calm, supportive, participant-led way Funding May be funded through NDIS Capacity Building supports (where appropriate) Private payment options also available Counselling is optional and designed to enhance, not replace, the group experience.
Cancellation Policy
Bookings Sessions must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. Ongoing weekly or fortnightly bookings reserve a place specifically for the participant. Cancellations More than 7 days’ notice: No charge Less than 7 days’ notice or non-attendance: May be charged 100% of the session fee, in line with NDIS Pricing Arrangements Same-day cancellations: Treated as short notice cancellations Exceptions Cancellation fees may be waived for illness, family emergencies, or exceptional circumstances, at our discretion. Group Sessions Late cancellations impact group viability. Short notice cancellation rules apply to all group programs. Provider Cancellations If NextGen cancels a session, no charge will apply. Late Arrivals Late arrival does not extend session time and the full session fee applies.
