Service Description
Why We Offer a Term-Based Program At NextGen, our programs are designed to provide consistent, structured support that helps young people build real skills, confidence, and connection over time. Rather than operating as a casual drop-in service, our sessions follow a therapeutic, goal-focused approach aligned with NDIS outcomes and person-centred practice. A term-based structure allows participants to develop routine, form friendships within a stable group, and work toward meaningful goals across the full 12-week program. This creates stronger engagement, improved emotional regulation, and better long-term progress compared to irregular or casual attendance. Weekly Billing Structure While enrolment is for the full 12-week term, sessions are billed weekly. This provides families with predictable, manageable payments rather than a large upfront cost, and allows supports to align with regular NDIS plan budgets. Weekly billing also ensures: Consistency with NDIS funding cycles Clear forecasting for families and support coordinators Ongoing continuity of support without disruption Participants are allocated a reserved place within their chosen weekly sessions, ensuring stability and familiarity each week. Why a Structured Program Is More Effective Than Casual Sessions Casual attendance can feel flexible, but it often limits progress. Young people may struggle to build trust, develop social confidence, or maintain emotional regulation when attendance is inconsistent or when group dynamics change frequently. Our term-based model provides: Consistency & Routine Predictable sessions help reduce anxiety and improve regulation, especially for neurodivergent participants. Relationship Building Stable peer groups allow friendships to grow naturally, supporting social skill development and a sense of belonging. Goal Progression Staff can track progress across the term, adjusting supports to meet each participant’s evolving needs. Stronger Outcomes Regular engagement leads to improved confidence, communication skills, digital literacy, and independence. Reserved Program Placement Participants have a secured spot each week, removing the stress of rebooking or missing out due to limited availability. Program Options (12-Week Term) Standard Program – 2 Sessions Per Week Sessions are delivered in a supportive group environment by experienced youth mentors and ACA-registered counsellors, with a focus on social development, wellbeing and digital skill building.
